Kirsten & Tom / Glasshaus Inside Wedding

August 10, 2019

I do all of my client meetings at a little bar near my house called Atticus Finch. It’s quiet, intimate and has an ever changing list of fine wines from around the world. In essence, it’s my dream office. From the moment Kirsten and Tom sat across the booth from me at our initial meeting, I knew that I very much wanted to be part of this wedding. There was a real tenderness about them, and the intimate nature of their plans was exactly the type of wedding that I love to document. They weren’t at all concerned with the frills, but only that they could share the occasion with their families and friends in an environment that befitted their shared love of fine food and wine. The ceremony was initially scheduled for Glasshaus Outside, however a night of unseasonal heavy winds saw the venue’s roof ripped off in the hours of the early morning and destroyed as it blew down Swan St. This would have been enough to break alot of brides, but not Kirsten, it barely even registered a blip on her radar. The ceremony was quickly relocated to Glasshaus Inside, the same venue as the reception, and as far as back up plans go, you really couldn’t hope for better. The best part was that we were still able to make use of Glasshaus Outside for some stunning photos later in the day. But the key to the success of this day was really the relaxed and trusting attitude that Kirsten and Tom displayed towards all their vendors. Despite the set back, they had ultimate faith in everyone involved and trusted each of us to deliver on the day, which we undoubtedly did.

Two bodies face to face Are at times two waves And the night is an ocean. Two bodies face to face Are sometimes two stones And the night a desert…
